Panther Prowl FAQ
What is Panther Prowl?
Panther Prowl is Crittenden Middle School PTA’s largest fundraiser. It includes the Walkathon and Silent Auction.
When and where will it be held?
Panther Prowl will be held on Friday, March 23rd 2018 at our school, rain or shine. Students who submit the completed permission form and a minimum donation of $10 by 3/16/18 will be allowed to walk and participate in the activities during the school day from 2:15 pm to 2:55 pm. Everybody else will join in the fun from 2:55 pm to 5 pm.
What is the goal for this year?
Our financial goal for the 2018 Panther Prowl is to raise $120 per student. However, 100% participation is the primary goal. All donations are welcome.
Please encourage your student to either use their Walkstarter page or the Donation form included in their Panther Prowl student packet to seek donations from family and friends, near and far.
How are the Panther Prowl funds used?
Funds raised through Panther Prowl support every student at Crittenden. The PTA supports enrichment opportunities for all students, funds grade level field trips and speaker visits, supports teachers and library and various student bodies including STEAM, musical, WEB, Leadership, Robotics, athletics, etc.
How does the Silent Auction work?
All Crittenden parents are invited to participate in the online and/or live Silent Auction. Local businesses and CMS parents have generously donated items for the Silent Auction. Online auction will start at 9 am PST on March 22nd and will end at 1:30 pm PST on March 23rd.
All items which do not fall under the Buy It Now category will be transitioned to Live auction irrespective of number of bidders. Live auction is from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm PST on March 23rd.
We hope that you can join us at school to partake in the fun. However, if you can’t and are watching a particular auction item, please make sure to set up proxy bids as we will be updating the online auction platform periodically throughout the live event.
Bid winners can pick up the items between 5 and 5:30 pm on 3/23 OR at Staff Lounge between 7:45 am and 9am on 3/26. Online bid winners’ cards will be charged. Live event winners have to pay with either cash or check. We do not have credit card processing capabilities at live event. Winners’ payments will be cross-checked and item released when they come to pick up their winnings.
Will there be food for purchase?
Yes! Our wonderful ELAC parents, WEB and Leadership students will be selling a variety of food items. Plan on buying dinner to take home.
What are some of the activities being held?
Various student groups will showcase their talents and/or manage popular games such as dunk tank, soccer darts, tape a teacher to the wall, human size connect four, face painting,
etc.
How can I help?
This event will not be a success without YOU. Please consider volunteering a few hours before or at the event. You can also donate gift cards, tickets to local attractions and offering unique items for the Silent Auction. In addition, you can share an unique hobby or skill by hosting a subscription party.
What is a subscription party?
A subscription party is an event wherein a CMS parent or local business hosts/sponsors our school community members. Activities can range from yoga, arts, crafts, science to brewing artisanal drinks such as Kombucha. All ticket sales are donated to the PTA. The host can choose the number of guests, date and location. This year, we are limiting off-site subscription parties to CMS parents. Any subscription party offered for CMS students must be held at the school site. Please contact us if you have questions.
